Aftercare instructions
Initial Aftercare (First Few Days)
Keep the Tattoo covered:
• After the tattoo session, I will cover the area with a bandage or second skin depands on design.
For second skin: leave it 3-4 days maximum, you can shower with it (it is waterproof) Be careful not to let the corners fall off. If it will fall, take it off and wash it with antibacterial soup.
What if my second skin falls off sooner than you said?
Don't panic, wash the tattoo with antibacterial soap and let it dry. Wash it at least 2-3 times until it's completely dry and start applying it 2-3 days after the session.
For bandage few hours or overnight when I will give you the second bandage. All this is to protect the fresh tattoo from bacteria and other contaminants. When you are switching for new one, wash it with antibacterial soup.
Clean the Tattoo Gently:
Once the cover is removed (doesn't metter on time), gently wash the tattoo with antibacterial or mild, fragrance-free soap. (I recommend the most simple version you can find in drug store: PROTEX)
• Pat the area dry with a clean towel or allow it to air dry. Do not rub, as this can irritate the skin and cause damage.
Ongoing Care (First Few Weeks)
Moisturizing
After 2-3 days after our tattoo session, if the tattoo is dry you can start to moisturize regularly:
• Apply a thin layer of a fragrance-free, hypoallergenic moisturizer or a product specifically designed for tattoo aftercare. Avoid over-moisturizing, as this can suffocate the tattoo and lead to poor healing.
Use products that are free from petroleum, lanolin, or other potential allergens, as these can sometimes exacerbate reactions, especially with red ink.
I recommend the most natural ways: shea butter, coconut oil, chamomile ointment…
Please avoid: Vaseline, Bepanthen
During the healing
Avoid Scratching or Picking:
• The tattooed area may itch as it heals. Do not scratch or pick at scabs, as this can cause scarring or ink loss. Patting the area gently or using a moisturizing lotion can help alleviate itchiness.
Protect from Sunlight:
Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight, as UV rays can fade colors and irritate the skin. Once the tattoo is healed, always apply a high-SPF, broad-spectrum sunscreen when exposing the area to the sun.
Avoid swimming, hot tubs or soaking in baths for at least two weeks.
Excessive moisture can become infected.
Wear Loose Clothing and avoid sweaty sports or environents
Monitor for Reactions:
• Be aware of signs of an allergic reaction or infection, such as excessive redness, swelling, itching, or pus. If you notice any of these symptoms, consult with me or a healthcare professional.
Even after your tattoo has healed, continue to protect it with sunscreen and keep the skin moisturized to maintain the vibrancy of the colors.
By following these aftercare steps, you can help ensure your tattoo heals properly.
If any issues arise or if you have concerns about how your tattoo is healing, seek advice from me or a professional.
Usually after two-three weeks the tattoo should be healed :)
After it heals, I would be very happy if you send me a photo or write how satisfied you are with the tattoo :)
Thank you and I wish you the best time with your new tattoo :)
